Being a midwife is not a hobby - What does this sentence by MORE MIDWIVES mean?
Being a midwife means taking on responsibility when others are sleeping. Attending births while your own child waits at home. Cleaning, documenting, comforting, and acting, often all at once. And all for a salary that's barely enough to live on.

This isn't romantic. It's not cute. And it's definitely not a hobby.
Midwives carry people through the most vulnerable moments of their lives. They stay awake when others are resting. They remain calm when things get critical. And they work day after day in a system that pushes them to their limits.

Yet we do it nonetheless. Out of conviction. Out of attitude. Out of genuine passion.
But passion must not be an excuse for exploitation.
Being a midwife is not a hobby
It is responsible, system-relevant, essential work that must finally be paid fairly.
