Kamenz delivery room closing? Not for now

May 31, 2026 – an incredibly exciting day for the Kamenz delivery room in Saxony. A roller coaster of emotions on the planned closing day.

"May 31, 2026, supposedly the last day on our ward, did not turn out to be so after all.

We are touched by how many people were in the delivery room that day. Our doors opened one last time for everyone on that day.

At 1 PM, the news came: the doors will remain open. The Kamenz delivery room will be preserved until December 31, 2026. The Bautzen district is providing €500,000 to postpone the closure until then.

Now for us in the delivery room, it's time to reorganize. After slowly winding everything down, we are now quickly ramping everything back up!

Care is secured. We are motivated and here for you.

Nevertheless, it will require discussions and some time to settle certain things, as well as a moment to catch our breath and sort through the chaos of emotions.

To permanently save the delivery room, more still needs to be done!
