Kassel State Theatre - Milk and Guilt + Midwives

Milk & Guilt: A premiere by Sina Ahlers that explores the taboos of surrogacy and the value of unpaid care work. The main character, Zartie, carries the child for a couple who are biologically unable to have children. Following the play, there will be discussions with midwife Marion Scheele.

The focus will be on
🤍 the increasingly precarious working conditions in the midwifery profession
🤍 a profession predominantly practiced by women – and utilized by women
🤍 the question of why exactly this work is consistently neglected politically

Why is there a lack of appreciation for a service that we all depend on at least once in our lives?
